Evaluation

My initial concept for my final project was to make a magazine about location and a short video about a place with music. The reason of my this choice is to show more information about the place and also how it looks like. In making this final product, I’m trying to achieve to different people to notice many different and beautiful places, colours and designs. With my final product I’m targeting tourists and people who like to explore and experience new places. Specialism I have followed are photography and video, because that’s what i’m doing in my project. And I also have to think about how I want to edit it, what music to add and how the magazine should look like. This will help me to progress more in photography and editing pictures/videos, because I’m still learning how to do something more and new. Yes, I’m really passionate about taking pictures/videos and then experimenting in editing them, 

The significance of my work on this project is more about historical links. The buildings I was taking pictures of are old or more modern, which shows a difference of how each building is built and how it is unique by how they look like.

My research and my planning helped me to develop my ideas more. I did lots of secondary research of places I would visit with a mix of modern and historical designs. I planned what places I want to visit, what app I will use to edit or experiment with, I also have a website from which I can take and use some audio for my video.

The audience for my media product are tourists, families, people who like to explore more different and historical places or schools/colleges that have trips. The people who will see my media product will get to know more about place, read some more information like what’s exactly there and how it looks like.

I want to attract my audience by bright colours of the picture and different designs of the buildings. The specific techniques I used to attract my audience is first I edited my original pictures so they look more nice and detailed. Then when I was making a magazine, I addressed the audience’s curiosity by explaining more about the designer and the interior of the La Sagrada Familia Basilica church. I didn’t want to make a very hard design or lots of signs. I was trying to make it simple and clear, but interesting and more understandable to read.

Methods I can use to analyse my ideas and work during the development of my media project is to write all my step by step points of what I’m doing and how I will do it and also show pictures of my final result. We did peer feedback with my class so we can hear from other classmates what they think about your project or what you can improve or do differently. I did my proposal and timetable for saying what I’m doing every week before final evaluation.

What problems did you encounter? How have your skills developed across this project and across the year?

I have learned and I experienced how to edit using Camera Raw Filter in Adobe Photoshop and I had more options of how to edit my pictures. Software that I used to make my magazine is Indesign, the software that I used to make my video are Adobe Premiere Pro and CapCut. To edit my pictures for my magazine I used Adobe Photoshop. For me to use Adobe Photoshop is not hard now and not easy, but I really like to use this software for editing pictures and it has a lots of workspace variety for editing photos, like Essential, 3D, Graphic and Web, Motion, Painting and Photography.What is more harder for me to use is Adobe Premiere Pro, because I didn’t experience a lot with editing videos. 

How successful is the design and content of your final product? What was unsuccessful in your product? How might you improve your product if you had more time? What does your audience feedback tell you about your final product?

Yes, my product does match up to my initial idea. My initial idea was to take pictures of different places and interestingly buildings, edit the pictures I have got and make magazine and brochure and videos out of them.
